John Roskelley: I'd have to tell them that within a day's drive there's access to some of the hardest climbs in the world and some of the best training ground in the world. Within a day's drive, I can get to the Canadian Rockies or climb on some of the biggest granite walls in the Bugaboos. In the Cascades, I can snow climb and ice climb in the winter. There's no end to what a climber can do here, if you have access to a vehicle. This isn't Tahoe or Yosemite Valley, but within three or four hours driving time you can climb some of the greatest routes in the United States -- even in the world.
